Where your orders live
An order that hasn't fully filled yet is a working order, and it sits in your Open Orders list. Once an order fills or fails, it moves to your transaction history, where each entry shows as Pending, Filled, or Failed.
Canceling an order
Only working orders can be canceled. Open the order from your Open Orders list and cancel it there. A filled order can't be undone; if you've changed your mind about a position you already hold, close the position instead.
Partial fills
A limit order doesn't have to fill all at once. If only part of your quantity has traded, you'll see the filled quantity and the average fill price so far. The rest keeps working until it fills, expires, or you cancel it.
Why hasn't my limit order filled?
A limit order executes only if the market reaches your price. If it hasn't filled, nobody is currently willing to trade at that price, which is common in thinner markets. You can leave the order working (a good-til-canceled order will keep waiting), move your price toward the market, or cancel and use a market order if getting filled matters more than the price (see Order types explained).
Expiration
When you place a limit order you choose how long it stays active: end of day orders expire at the daily session rollover at midnight Central Time, and good till canceled (GTC) orders keep working until they fill or you cancel them.
Double-submission protection
If the app hiccups while you're placing an order, a retry won't create a second one. Repeat submissions of the same order are detected and de-duplicated automatically.
