Lumina supports three deposit methods. Your funds are held securely at Interactive Brokers (Nasdaq: IBKR) — see Where your money is held.
Linked bank account (ACH)
The simplest option for most users. You link your bank account once — either by logging in through Plaid or by entering your account and routing numbers manually. After that, you can initiate deposits directly from Lumina without going through your bank each time.
Speed: funds are typically available instantly, or by the next business day.
Cost: free.
One-time ACH transfer
No account linking required. You initiate the transfer from your bank's side each time, using Lumina's account details. Best if you prefer not to connect your bank account or are making a single deposit.
Speed: one business day or less.
Cost: free.
Wire transfer
You set up a wire template at your bank once, then send funds directly to your Lumina account. There is no upper limit on deposit amounts.
Speed: typically 2–3 business days.
Cost: your bank may charge a wire fee — check with them before sending.
