Lumina doesn't prepare your taxes or issue tax forms itself. Your account is held at Interactive Brokers (IBKR), and IBKR generates the official forms. Which forms you receive depends on your tax residency and account classification.
Which forms exist
Form 1099: the consolidated form most US account holders receive, covering the year's reportable activity.
Form 1099-R: distributions from retirement accounts.
Form 1042-S: for non-US persons with US-source income.
Form 8949: sales and dispositions detail.
If a form doesn't apply to your situation, it won't be issued. An account with nothing reportable may receive no form at all.
When forms become available
IBKR makes the consolidated Form 1099 available by February 15 for the preceding year, and Form 1099-R by January 31. There's nothing to request in advance; forms appear once they're issued.
Where to download them
Go to Settings → Reports → Tax forms, choose the tax year, and download as PDF, HTML, or CSV. Activity statements and trade confirmations live in the same place (see Managing your account).
Before closing your account
Download what you need while the account is still open. Records are retained under regulatory rules after closure, but self-serve access ends, and getting documents afterward means going through support instead of a download button.
A note on advice
