Managing your account

Updating your details, finding statements and tax forms, connected bank accounts, and how account closure works.

Updating your personal information

In Settings → Profile Details, tap Edit to update:

  • Legal first and last name

  • Address (country, street, city, state, ZIP), available once your account is approved for trading

Email and phone number can't be edited in-app. To change either, contact support and we'll walk you through what's needed.

Connected bank accounts

Bank accounts are connected inside the deposit and withdrawal flows: link one via Plaid or by entering account and routing numbers, then choose among your connected accounts whenever you move funds. To remove or replace a connected account, contact support; there is no in-app removal today.

Statements, confirmations, and tax forms

Settings → Reports gives you three document types, each downloadable as PDF, HTML, or CSV:

  • Activity statements: all account activity for a selected period (trades, positions, deposits and withdrawals, fees, interest), daily, monthly, or annual.

  • Tax forms: official IBKR-generated forms for a selected tax year, including Form 1099, 1099-R, 1042-S, and 8949.

  • Trade confirmations: a per-day document showing each trade's instrument, side, quantity, execution price, and timestamp.

Generating a document can take up to 30 seconds. If you ever close your account, download what you need first: records are retained under regulatory rules, but self-serve access ends at closure.

Closing your account

In Settings → Account → Closure, two things must be true before you can close:

  1. Your account balance is zero. Withdraw any remaining funds first.

  2. You have no open positions. Close them or let them resolve.

The closure flow walks you through both (with shortcuts to your wallet and positions), asks your reason for leaving, and ends with an acknowledgement that closure is permanent. Account records are retained after closure, a regulatory requirement under CFTC and NFA rules.
