Before you start your application, it helps to have the following ready:
Personal information: your name, address, date of birth, and contact details.
Your Social Security Number (SSN). Every applicant is asked for one.
Employment information: your employer's name, address, and phone number. If you're self-employed or not currently employed, you'll indicate that instead.
You don't need your bank details yet. You connect a bank account when you make your first deposit, not during the application: Funding your account.
ID verification
Most applicants are verified automatically — for the majority of people, no documents need to be uploaded. Where electronic verification isn't possible, you'll be asked for supporting documents, typically a government ID and proof of address, with clear instructions on what's accepted and how to submit them. This can happen to anyone; it isn't a sign that something is wrong with your application.
If you get to that point: Stuck in the application?
